Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al-Saduq narrated that his father narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from al-Nawfali, from al-Sakooni, from Imam Sadiq (pbuh), from his father, from his ancestors, from Imam Ali (pbuh), that he said:
The Sunnah (tradition) is of two kinds:
1.A Sunnah in an obligation—acting upon it is guidance, and leaving it is misguidance; and
2.A Sunnah other than obligatuions—acting upon it is a virtue, and leaving it is not a sin.
